I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.53(1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Land, Environment and Natural Resources on a matter of national concern regarding the delays in the processing of certificates of titles in land registries across the country. In the Statement, the Committee should address the following- (1) Reasons for the current delays in the processing of land titles at the land registries countrywide; (2) Shortage of necessary documents required for the processing of certificates of titles or title deeds. (3) Measures being implemented by the Ministry of Land, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development to resolve this issue, along with the timelines for restoring normal operations in land registries.
