Speaker, I wish to request for a statement from the Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Social Protection, regarding a vacancy in the Office of Uwezo Fund in Kaiti Constituency. The position of Uwezo Fund Manager in Kaiti became vacant in 2019 following the demise of the then-fund manager. The Uwezo Fund Oversight Board has yet to fill the vacancy, leading to a backlog in disbursing funds to residents. The inordinate delay in filling the vacancy and facilitating the office has negatively affected the local economy."
