"content": " Hon. Deputy Speaker, I rise to also support the Bill as presented by the Deputy Leader of the Majority Party. There are many ways of growing the economy. One of the ways is giving tax incentives to potential sectors that are important for generating more revenue and creating job opportunities. This year, the economy is projected to grow on the back of manufacturing. We project that manufacturing will help us to collect more taxes and create job opportunities. Therefore, we need to strongly support the incentive to manufacturers in the steel sector to enable them to defer taxes, specifically VAT, on their products. In the past, I have said that tax incentives should be abolished to save the Ksh300 billion that we lose through VAT waivers. However, because of the prospects of job creation and growth that is presented by the manufacturing sector, I urge the House to pass this Bill to allow investors, both local and foreign, to pump in resources. We believe they are going to create the jobs that we need for our people. In line with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) we are championing as the Broad-Based Government, this Bill will help the economy. Hon. Deputy Speaker, I support."
