Temporary Speaker, pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 44(2)(c), I rise to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Tourism and Wildlife regarding rampant cases of snake bites in Baringo County. Baringo County harbours around 38 out of the 171 snake species found in Kenya. Five of these snakes are highly poisonous: black mamba, red spitting cobra, brown spitting cobra, puff adder, and boomslang. Alarmingly, the region has been recorded as having one of the highest incidences of snake bite cases in the country.
