As we discuss this new formula from tomorrow, it is important for us to say that each county should at least get Kshs 6 billion then we subject the formula for anything above Kshs6 billion. If we do that, counties like Elgeyo- Marakwet, Tharaka-Nithi, Isiolo, Lamu and Taita-Taveta can have meaningful development. I am the Vice-Chairperson of the Committee on Energy and we have talked about seven or so counties that are not on the national grid, namely; Wajir, Mandera, Garissa, part of Isiolo, Marsabit and Turkana. These areas were neglected by successive governments. The committee cannot do anything as of now."
