My Office only investigates when complaints are brought to its attention. This aspect falls within the purview of supervision and co-ordination of Government affairs. The argument was that if this maize is unfit for human consumption, South Africans are also human beings and so, why export it instead of destroying it here, rather than incurring costs in shipping it back to South Africa?"
