They boast of most of the water that runs into the Indian Ocean. The Government has done nothing much to improve on agriculture in these areas. It may not be necessarily maize that can be planted in these areas. I have cases where cassava does very well in these areas. I have cases where green grams, millet and sorghum do well in the lower parts of the larger Meru like Tharaka. Rainfall is not enough, but we have enough rivers."
