"content": "The Address fell short of calming down the political climate in the country. Only last year, we went through very tumultuous times in this country. As Mr. Speaker said yesterday, the blood that was spilled has not even gone under the ground. In many places, we still have Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). We still have old women and children living in tented camps, one year down the line. Kenyans are not happy with us. They are saying that we are only interested in politics and our stomachs. That may well be true. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the true perspective is that, as a Government comprising of the most political parties, we are failing Kenyans. I think there is an attempt to grab power from the people and put it in the hands and pockets of very few individuals. The politics of succession is threatening to tear the fabric of this society.
