"content": "The Trustees, who were approved in the House Business Committee this morning, will represent us in the Post-Service Medical Scheme. I was informed that a total of 302 Members of the National Assembly, including 47 Senators, have already registered for this Scheme. I ask those of us who are yet to register to please do so because the approval of these Trustees will actualise the implementation of what we agreed on this Scheme and for us to start our contributions at the end of this month. Your payslips this month will have a small cut to contribute to the Post-Service Medical Scheme which is for the best interest of all Members of Parliament. This is a very good thing. The Members who have been appointed are very knowledgeable and skilled. Some of them are administrators and lawyers like Hon. T.J. Kajwang’. Hon. Emaase is trained in finance matters. Therefore, she will be instrumental in guiding the Commission, together with all the other Trustees. There are 10 Trustees. The National Assembly will contribute three Members and the Senate will contribute two Senators. We will have the representation of two former Members of Parliament, the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Service Commission and the Clerks of both Houses as Trustees of this Board. This is in line with the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) regulations and our statutes. Therefore, we will operationalise this Post-Service Medical Scheme. With those remarks, I beg to move and request Leader of the Minority Party, Hon. Junet Mohamed, to second the Motion."
