    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me the opportunity. I also extend my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives last year and this year. Kenya is a democracy and holds elections every five years, giving people the chance to elect the government they desire. We will not permit a government to come in through the back door. Our police have demonstrated restraint. We cannot progress as a nation if we expect the police to protect property from armed protesters and yet refrain from acting. This is our opportunity, as a House, to amend our laws, ensuring the police have the authority to arrest and disperse demonstrations."
