Temporary Chairman, during a time when there is a lot of investments, there are a lot of savings by Kenyans in other non-public pension schemes, it is very important that we do not exclude this particular pension and medical schemes that Kenyans pay outside the public schemes. Therefore, I beg to move that we delete the word “public” from the Bill so that the law will read, “other allowances paid under a pension scheme.” The import of this is payments made to both public and private pension schemes will be exempted from Income Tax.
