"content": "Hon. Tongoyo, I have searched my dictionary just so I can educate you. It says, “Using the phrase, ‘despite being a woman’, can indeed be considered problematic, patronising and in fact, condescending to women.’’ Why is it potentially derogatory? One, being a woman is not an obstacle to serve in any service at all. Two, a woman's service is not unusual or surprising, no matter how tough it is. Three, it implies that her gender makes her achievement exceptional, not because of the achievement itself, but because she is a woman. A better, more respectful alternative you should have used is that you do not highlight her gender and limit it to the service to merit, but say in the context and the things that she has achieved”. Hon. Tongoyo, I am sorry, but as a woman, I take great exception. Let us proceed. Who is seconding?"
