    "content": "I do not think that is the argument. I do not think that was the rationale behind independence but this is a very vibrant, robust discussion and we need to look at this in totality. When you come in as an independent candidate, they say you are at the mercies of the parties when you come to sit in committees. That may be the case but it is not just independents. There are also other small parties that fall into the same category where when you come in as an independent Member of Parliament of a party, you have to find your way. You have to weave your way around it because our Standing Orders are clear."
