    "content": "Under Article 240 of the Constitution, as read together with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission Act, the pay or salary remuneration of any public officer is to enable them to discharge their roles. Members of Parliament, whether in the Senate or in the National Assembly, have the role of oversight, representation and legislation. We cannot, therefore, be giving people ‘double pay’ without any legal framework as we speak and yet, we have bodies that require funding and are not being funded."
