    "content": "The role of the Board of Trustees performs the functions assigned to it under the NSSF Act, mainly to oversee the registration of members of the scheme; collect contributions for members as described by the Act and pay claims to retirees on demand. They make recommendations to the Ministry of Labour for appointment of the Managing Trustee; appointment of the officials of the Fund as may be necessary for the efficient management of the Fund; determine investments of the surplus as permitted by the Trustee Act with the approval of the Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Finance. The Board also keeps books of accounts and other records related to the Fund."
