    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, issues of maize being sold to Southern Sudan have been raised. I repeat here that as somebody responsible enough and understanding my duties, when farmers started to harvest maize in Kenya, I took the liberty, on my own motion, to gazette the ban on export of maize from Kenya. That was on 3rd October, 2008. Here is the gazette notice that gave legal backing to the police and Government agencies to stop anybody from exporting maize from Kenya. It was my responsibility and I discharged it."
