    "content": "Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, however, a very critical issue that this House needed to discuss is that of the teachers' strike. I want to thank the teachers of this country, especially the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) for spearheading the welfare of teachers in a manner that this Government has resisted. It is a question of time before this matter is resolved. I would like to appeal to the Government and the relevant Departmental Committee to consider improving and fast-tracking the current mediation efforts so that teachers can go back and teach our children. Two weeks, you will agree with me, is such a long time for this matter to continue and not receive attention from the Government."
