"content": "Regarding the election of mayors and chairmen, we have also decided as a Ministry that we are not going to wait for the new Constitution. We are going to bring an amendment to this House so that, starting from 2012, we will have direct elections of mayors and chairmen of various local authorities. Once we have direct elections of chairmen - which means that they will have added responsibilities - then they must be well remunerated. This is because at that particular point, what we will be looking for is a manager to manage the local authority."
