    "content": "I would also like to urge the Government to consider removing the Value Added Tax (VAT) from tea, so that our tea can compete effectively in the world market. Already, we are being informed that there is over supply of the product in the market. We are asking that VAT should be removed, so that we can compete not only with the other tea growing countries in the world---There is also serious competition from other beverages. There is a very serious competition from coffee. Kenyans who never used to consume coffee are now considering it as an alternative to tea. So, we need to make sure that the Kenyan tea becomes the beverage of choice, not only for Kenyans but also for people from other countries."
