    "content": "Secondly, we know that in the production of most of these cash crops you use diesel. In the costing of diesel, especially last year, the prices had gone very high. In the duty structure for diesel we have the road maintenance levy. This is money that is levied for every litre of diesel that you consume. For farmers who use their machines on the road, the continued levy of this fund which is about Kshs9 per litre is extremely punitive and goes a long way towards increasing the cost of production. I think we should look for ways in which we can remove the road maintenance levy."
