    "content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand to strongly second this Motion, and urge my colleagues to also do so. The issue of remuneration of our councillors is long overdue. We must realise that our councillors play a very important role in the running of this country. They do all the work and it is about time that we took them very seriously. It is about time we started thinking that these are the people who help run this country. I am surprised to see that other people are paid by the central Government; the chiefs and other officers are paid by it, while our councillors are relegated to the bottom of financial capability."
