    "content": "Most of our councillors never get paid, because their councils do not have enough money to pay them. They go even for a year without being paid, yet they are elected leaders. They are not different from hon. Members, because they are also elected by the people. So many at times, they cannot perform their duties, because they cannot travel even to the council headquarters to transact business for their councils. So, it is about time we started thinking seriously about their payment. When we come to what they are paid, it is peanuts, yet we expect them to deliver. It is not possible for them to deliver if we cannot enable them to do so. I, therefore, strongly suggest that they must be paid by the central Government, so that they can do their work."
