    "content": "We also need to look at the Local Government Act, Cap.265. This Act gives immense powers to the Minister. It is about time that the Ministry brought the Act to this House so that we can amend it, so that there is freedom for our councillors to do their work without the interference by the Ministry of Local Government, or without facing the dictatorial powers that the Minister for Local Government has. If we are going to do that and, indeed, we need to do it; if we are going to support this Motion, which, in my opinion, should go through, we will have to call upon the Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK) to also look at the boundaries of the local authorities, so that we have proper representation of our people in the local authorities; our people need to be represented well."
