    "content": " Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I support this Motion. I also thank hon. Linturi for coming up with this very important Motion that will go a long way in assisting our councillors who are very desperate in this country. Councillors have really lobbied for better remuneration. They have even gone as far as seeing His Excellency the President. I am happy that the President approved some allowances, but that is not enough. I think that this Motion has been brought to the House twice. This House is the last line of defence for our councillors. We must assist them to get better pay. I am even surprised that the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Local Government is usually referred to as an executive Ministry. It should have given an executive order so that councillors could get a better pay. But I support this Motion."
