"content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I am not doubting my colleague, hon. Dr. Khalwale, because he is the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee. From there, he can access the Controller and Auditor-General's Report. That is why I said that I will find out and report back to this House. On the question whether this money was used to finance the National Oil Corporation of Kenya (NOCK) to purchase the Somken Company which was running the Shell petroleum stations, I would like to say no. Somken and Shell petrol stations were purchased at a cost of Kshs1.3 million through direct investments from the Treasury hence, the Ministry did not have any say at all. The money was paid directly by the Treasury to the respective company."
