A sum of Kshs9 million has been allocated for routine maintenance works this financial year. Routine maintenance is being done to ensure that passage throughout the year is possible. (b) The Siaya-Nadorera-Ruambwa Section is 24 kilometres long. It is of gravel standard. It has been designed for construction to bitumen standard. The construction work has been included in the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) Budget and is expected to commence in the next Financial Year 2009/2010. A sum of Kshs500 million has been planned for in the Budget for 2009/2010. In the meantime, Kshs4.9 million has been allocated for maintenance works during this financial year.
