A total of Kshs15,893,470 has been allocated in the current Financial Year, 2008/2009, for development, operation and maintenance of irrigation and drainage infrastructure within Perkerra Irrigation Scheme. However, the developed infrastructure for this Scheme is not fully exploited due to inadequate water for irrigation, caused by low river discharges, particularly during the dry seasons."
