"content": " Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I wish to inform the Deputy Leader of Government Business that it is, indeed, true that this contract has been awarded, but it so happened that at the time when the quantities were taken and when the contract went to tender, it took such a long time that by the time the contractor was on the ground, the road had deteriorated remarkably. Therefore, the amount that had been set aside could only do the work that the contractor actually did. However, the work has already been re-tendered – that was on 29th September – and there was a site visit on 4th October. The Ministry has set aside a total of Kshs180 million. We hope to award the tender and the contract will be completed."
