"content": " Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. In view of the fact that Kambimiwa Airstrip in Kitale has began to attract larger aircrafts this year on account of increased number of passengers, the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) intends to implement the following works during the next financial year:- (i) A new passenger waiting shade to protect passengers from elements of weather. (ii) A toilet block to enhance sanitation facilities. (iii) Provision of electric power by connecting to Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) mains. (iv) Rehabilitation of the access road and car park. (v) Acquisition of land adjacent to the airstrip to enable the extension of the runway. November 25, 2008 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 3531 Mr. Speaker, Sir, this will require assistance from both the Town Council of Kitale and the County Council of Kitale. Replacement of the old fence was recently tendered by the KAA at an estimated cost of Kshs5.5 million and the contractor is expected to be appointed before the end of November, 2008."
