    "content": " Thank you. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank Members who have spoken here very candidly about the way other countries have gone. There is no magic! There is no miracle that is going to happen. We just have to invest in the right place. There will be no guess work or we are not going to expect that things are just going to happen. We have to have a coherent plan on how we want to boost our food productivity. This year, the Government again has set aside Kshs6 billion and we have ordered fertiliser that is going to be here in January. I want to assure hon. Members who have raised questions here that, that fertiliser is actually going to be sold to the farmer. The one that is being sold at the moment at Kshs6,500 will be sold to the farmer at Kshs3,500 because we realise that there will be no way that the Government has to invest in ensuring that farmers access inputs as a means of boosting our productivity. When we produce more, that is the only time the prices will come down and we can then be able to access food at affordable prices to the Kenyan citizenry.
