    "content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 2 of the Bill be amended- (a) by deleting the definition of \"core capital\" and substituting therefor the following new definition- \"Core capital\" means the fully paid up members' shares, capital issued, disclosed reserves, retained earnings, grants and donations, all of which are not meant to be expended unless on liquidation of the Sacco Society; (b) by deleting the definition of \"deposit\" and substituting therefor the following new definition- \"deposit\" means a sum of money received or paid on terms under which it shall be repaid, with or without interest or premium, and either on demand or at a time or in circumstances agreed by or on behalf of the person making the payment and the person receiving it; (c) by deleting the definition of \"licensed society\"; (d) by inserting the following new definitions in proper alphabetical sequence- \"Board of Trustees\" means the board of trustees established by Section 58 of the November 13, 2008 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 3485 Act; \"dormant account\" means savings or current account maintained by a Sacco society which is not operational, or has had no transaction by the depositor within the maximum period prescribed; \"Tribunal\" has the meaning assigned to it in the Cooperative Societies Act, 1997."
