I would like to confirm to the House that currently, the Ministry is creating a new project and is looking into how to develop a new port at 2264 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES July 31, 2007 Lamu which will serve Ethiopia and Southern Sudan. Also, the project for Dongo Kundu is in the process. The current situation is that this is the most appropriate place that we must develop so that we can be able to maximise the use of this particular part of the port. We cannot move the berths into any other area."
