"content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I do not think investors will divert from Kenya because of the increase in tariffs. First of all, we need to secure the financial integrity of our own utilities. If they are not financially stable, they will not be able to provide services. Secondly, we must be able to generate a sustainable revenue base for the sector to finance these investments in addition to power generation, transmission and distribution projects. Without proper tariffs, I do not think we would be able to have even the power that we have today. So, I do not think that anybody will divert from Kenya because of the tariff increase. Our power tariff compares very well in the region."
