(a) I am aware that the Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation, in conjunction with the Kenya Forest Service, has established seven hectares of eucalyptus trees in gazetted forest areas adjacent to Bosto and Kipseonoi blocks, which are unsuitable for indigenous trees and tea. (b) My Ministry has continued soil conservation activities in the area and, indeed, the Corporation's activities have seen the resurgence streams and springs, benefiting the Bosto Community with two water projects. There are no plans to compensate the farmers for any losses."
