    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise on a point of order to request a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Energy regarding the escalating price of petrol. It is very clear that all sectors of the economy are, to a large extent, controlled and managed by petrol. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, in seeking this Ministerial Statement, I would want the Minister to tell this House the cost of fuel in this country, the international price of fuel per barrel and how much the Government taxes fuel which is coming into this country. I would also want to know whether the Government has liberalised the sale of fuel or it is still controlled by the Government. Kenyans can no longer afford to drive or use any machines due to the rising cost of fuel. I would like to know what the Government is doing to ensure that it cushions its members from arbitrary escalating prices of fuel. I would also want to know whether there are alternative sources of energy for Kenyans to use to avoid using a lot of money on fuel. Thank you."
