    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I am rising on Standing Order No.69 to make a personal statement on a matter that is in the public domain. The matter is to the effect that I am among the Members of the Public Investments Committee (PIC) who are unqualified to sit in the Committee because I have allegedly been cited for corruption in the past. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to state the following simple facts: That, I am not corrupt and that I have never been cited for corruption anywhere in the Republic of Kenya. I have never been summoned by any of the previous Committees on any matter nor have I ever been cited by any previous Reports of the Committee for whatever reason. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to state on the Floor of this House that I have no intention of stepping down as a Member of the PIC since such a move will have no justification. Members of the Committee, as presently constituted, have demonstrated their confidence in me by electing me to lead them."
