    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Minister for telling us that he is expecting some fertilizers. He has also told us that the Government intends to control about 50 per cent of the fertilizer imports next year. These are special and difficult times. Why can the Minister not restrict the prices of fertilizers? These people have been taking advantage of fertilizer prices. The prices should be restricted to, say Kshs2,500 per 50- kilogramme bag of fertilizer. These are special times. The prices should be controlled during these three months, so that we can get fertilizers during the planting season. The farmers can then be compensated afterwards, perhaps by being given the same amount of fertilizer that was sold during the planting season.
