    "content": " Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand here to support this Motion on the Presidential Speech. I would like, first of all, to thank God for returning 90 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES March 12, 2008 peace to this country. We are all human beings, but it is only God who can save us from the problems that we have faced. We thank God for that. Secondly, I would like to thank the President for maintaining that same impetus with which he signed the Accord with his counterpart, hon. Raila Odinga. We all need to support them as hon. Members of this House and leaders of this country to ensure that, that Accord sees the light of day as a legislation and the necessary constitutional amendments that are being brought in form of Bills to this House. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would also like to thank our negotiators who have burnt the midnight oil for six weeks to make us realise what we have so far realised. They have midwifed this process, particularly the mediators, to ensure that this country does not go to the dogs."
