"content": "Dr. Kulundu): Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 26 of the Bill be amended by inserting the following new clauses immediately after Subclause (3)- (4) An employer or insurer against whom a claim for compensation is lodged by the Director under this section, shall settle the claim within ninety days of lodging the claim. (5) The Director shall, within thirty days of receipt of the money claimed under sub- section (1), pay the money to the employee who made the claim or his dependants. (6) An employer or an insurer who fails to pay the compensation claimed under this subsection commits an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both."
