The salary paid by the police is not as attractive as that paid in private practice or in other institutions. Our salaries do not attract as many doctors as we would like to have. However, when we need the services of a doctor, we sometimes get even those who are not in the regular employ of the police. Right now, we have a pathologist who works at Nairobi, a Dr. Zephaniah Kamau, whose rank is senior assistant commissioner of police. When we need other pathologists we usually get services from those that are employed by the Government, not necessarily by the police force."
