"content": "I am surprised that the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs, who I highly respect, would come and say that the Government is tired and is not able to work. My Committee on the Fiscal Management Bill and the Appropriation Bill has written to the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs to beg him to allow us to discuss and hold the Third Reading of that very important Bill. If the Government is tired, we are not. We would like to remain. I have been coming to the House for the last two weeks to give the Report of the Committee on Administration of Justice and Legal Affairs on the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendment) Bill. This includes an amendment which His Excellency the President promised this House and the nation in his opening Speech during the State Opening of Parliament. Our Committee was just helping this Government because it cannot help itself. You saw that yourselves yesterday. So, we were trying to help this Government to get those judges so that the backlog of cases at the Judiciary can be dealt with. A Government which cannot accept help from the Opposition is a Government August 16, 2007 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 3271 which needs to go home."
