    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, we completed the issuance of all outstanding identity cards by 31st June, 2007. We really do not have any pending cards that are to be issued. We are issuing them as they are being applied for, on a daily basis. We are processing cards within 24 hours. We have the capacity to produce 50,000 identity cards per day. For the applicants who have not received their identity cards, probably those cards are damaged. Most likely, the photographs were not readable by the machine or the fingerprints were wrong. The problem here is that when the Registrar of Persons returns these cards back to the owners, they are not aware that they have been rejected by the machine. They need to take other photographs or rectify the particulars which are not readable by the machine. If the hon. Member can give me the list of those applicants, I can get an answer. We can identify them on an individual basis."
