    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is true that HIV/AIDS could spread due to use of contaminated equipment in trying to remove the jiggers. Education for the change of knowledge, attitude and practice of the people is important. We have been educating people on how to avoid HIV/AIDS infections, including misuse of equipment in removing such things like jiggers, misuse of equipment in circumcision and so on. I would not endeavour to give prophylactic treatment for every patient who has jiggers. It is not viable both economically and medically. I have taken the hon. Member's sentiments and I will enhance the education on jigger eradication and to make people know that it can be a conduit for infection of HIV/AIDS."
