    "content": " Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, during those days, there used to be a lot of violence that was perpetrated against communities in the area; we knew of a lot of insecurity in that part of the country, in Tana River. I was involved to the extent of trying to assist the people who were affected. When you meet face to face with people whose houses have been burnt, their children displaced, women raped and then you are told that so-and-so were the perpetrators, and you see the way the public reacts to them, it would be unwise for us, today, to say that we should abolish the death sentence. So, I stand here to oppose this Motion and ask the House to oppose the Motion that seeks to abolish the death sentence. With those few remarks, I beg to oppose."
