    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Ministry has taken measures to encourage and make it easy for Kenyans to apply for patents through repealing the Intellectual Properties Act, Cap. 509, which was introduced during the colonial era. That was done in 2002. Mr. Gachara applied for that patent in 2002. The ARIPO replied in February, 2007. Kenya has not objected to it because, according to the regulations, until we object, the status remains that we have approved."
