(a) It is anticipated that the contractor will complete the construction of the Mbita Point- Tom Mboya Health Centre electricity line by September, 2007, for the health centre and secondary school to be connected. (b) Yes, I wish to confirm that a transformer will be installed to serve Waware Secondary School. However, Nyamuga and Wanyama primary schools could also be connected, but only upon payment of the requisite connection fee to the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) as primary schools are excluded from the current rural electrification policy, which targets public utilities, namely market centres, health facilities, secondary schools, youth polytechnics and water projects."
