"content": "Thank you very much, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Such tremors, earthquakes and related quakes also happen in the rest of the world. It is unfortunate that we do not have experts July 25, 2007 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 21 who can detect a tremor much before it happens. How prepared are we? What is the Ministry doing to make sure that seismologists can detect seismic tremors in the earth's crust? This is something which requires specialised training and specialised skills. Do we have such experts? Which department of the University of Nairobi is catering for this? Are they prepared for it? Do we have enough personnel and the machines to detect impending tremors?"
