(a) The Municipal Council of Nakuru carried out a clearing-up exercise along Tom Mboya Street after giving those concerned seven days notice to remove the illegal kiosks . (b) The structures were in the central business district and they were interfering with storm water drainage along the said street. (c) All councils are hereby directed to seek the Ministry's approval before major demolitions are carried out in their areas of jurisdiction, and should ensure the concurrence of the full council meeting in the first instance."
