"content": "Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Persons with Disabilities Act was passed way back in 2003. Among the provisions of the Act is one that compels television stations to include sign language in their programmes. However, four years down the line, the Assistant Minister says that only one television station has done this. In this country, we have over one million people who are deaf and dumb. It is in this concern that I brought this Question here. When will the Assistant Minister compel television stations to comply with the Act? The key word here is June 13, 2007 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 1739 \"compel\" because the Act is compelling them."
