"content": " Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. (a) I am not aware that Ekero-Ebuyangu Road is impassable since the road has been undergoing improvement and gravelling works as from 14th January, 2006. (b) Plans to upgrade Ekero-Ebuyangu Road to bitumen standard are underway. The contract was awarded on 8th February, 2007 at a construction period of 18 months. The contractor May 29, 2007 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 1657 has already been issued with the order to commence the works. (c) The contract sum for upgrading the road to bitumen standard is Kshs1,034,412,217.20."
